Engage lead awarded climate communications prize

Dr. Twila Moon recognized for championing climate science literacy

Twila Moon, Engage Climate Science program founder and lead, has been awarded the 2025 Pavel S. Molchanov Climate Communication Prize. The prize is awarded annually by the American Geophysical Union, the world's largest geoscience professional society, and recognizes "communication of climate science to promote scientific literacy, clarity of message, and efforts to foster respect and understanding of science-based values, particularly around climate change".

 

Dr. Moon will be recognized at the annual Fall American Geophysical Union Meeting. She was nominated by colleagues spanning scientific research and science-policy, and grateful that the entire Earth and space research community is honoring her work in bringing climate science insights to professionals and members of the public around the globe.
