Research shows En-ROADS is a tool with lasting impact.
Understanding solutions in a way that motivates lasting engagement and action is key. The En-ROADS Climate Active Simulation is a tool used by Engage Climate Science that is meeting that bar.
Researchers at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and collaborators used data from 1246 participants to evaluate the influence of working with the En-ROADS tool, publishing their results in Nature Communications. They found that participants made gains in climate knowledge and climate engagement, and that these gains were sustained over 6 months. The researchers also noted that En-ROADS was successful in fostering real-world actions. Importantly, these outcomes were robust outside of participants sociodemographic traits or sociopolitical values.
Climate science is inherently non-political and engaging with accurate, well-researched information about solutions can also drive system planning and discussing that is needed across sectors and political topics.
